Proactive Disclosure
In
Saskatchewan, independent officers of the Legislative Assembly such as
the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner (OIPC) are not
included as “government institutions” under The Freedom of
Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP). Nonetheless, the
OIPC will adopt certain ‘best practices’ that are currently modelled by
the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the Information Commissioner of
Canada.
To
that end, the OIPC will now publish voluntarily on its website travel
expense information regarding investigations, presentations and
conferences incurred by the Commissioner and staff of the OIPC.
This will be updated on an annual basis. The charts below do not
reflect travel for investigative work, presentations made or
conferences attended where an expense was not incurred by the OIPC.
